Malibu: This is a challenging golf course that demands accurate shots to score well. Fairways are in okay condition. Greens were in good shape. The sand traps were in need of sand. Not a bad course for the money. Updated March, 2010: For the money this is still a great course to play. There are abundant small trees lining the fairways, demanding accurate tee shots. Greens were in good shape overall. Sand traps were everywhere, and had ample sand in them. This was an overall fun experience. Updated February, 2011: The fairways were not in the best shape, greens were in good shape. Sand traps were abundant, with ample sand. For the money, not bad.

QuickBuck: Course has improved over the last several years. The greens can be the toughest in the state with the pin placement. Today’s was rough. Bring your friends, the views of Phoenix are great! Updated March, 2010: What a deal $29.00 on a 70 degree day. Conditions could be better but then the price will go up. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were in good shape, the rough is dirt. Very playable. Play it anytime you can. Updated February, 2011: Course has slipped in quality and condition since we did the last evaluation. The fairways looked like they were painted light green on dried up grass. The rough is unmaintained dirt. There greens were in pretty good shape and as always very challenging. When the economy turns around I hope they increase the maintenance and add some water. It has the potential of being a top 10 Phoenix course. All it takes is money.

MyTi: Did a good job on the course redesign. Good Challenge. Keep your head on a swivel. Fairways close enough that balls come in from all directions. Course deserves better play than it gets. Had to rake bunker and repair many ball marks.

Stone: Patchy fairways, greens in excellent condition. Narrow fairways, must place your shots accurately. Beautiful views of Downtown, course is right up against the mountains. Not a Scottsdale course, an average course with a lot of (not so good) locals who play here. So wear your hard hat! Updated March, 2010: Beautiful day, the right price, course in decent shape. Greens a little slower than they looked, but in great condition. Fairways okay. Narrow course and easy to have a wayward shot end up on a different fairway. The desert is nearby, and good luck finding that hooked tee shot. You will probably have better luck finding a rattlesnake. Exceptional views of downtown Phoenix and worth the trip. Updated February, 2011: Not as good as before, appears to have had heavy playing this winter. Rates are good, which probably explains the condition.
