Malibu: This is a demanding course in many ways. It demands accuracy, good green reading and length. I had none. Sand traps were muddy, greens were hard to read, overall difficult. Update, September, 2012: We played this course on a warm September day. We had the course to ourselves. Greens, fairways, sand traps, etc. were in good shape. Overall condition was good. This is a target course, demanding accurate shots to score well. Overall lots of fun.

QuickBuck: Very nice mountain target course. Like all courses at 106 degrees some of the areas suffer. You have to play this course several times to know what the best shots are. The number 13 green would be a good place to build a roller coaster. You need to see this green. Update, September, 2012: Still hot 103 degrees but the course was in good shape after a hot, dry summer. This is desert golf. You need to play it a few times to learn the best approach to each hole. $30.00 (Golf Now) is a real bargain. Don’t miss any opportunity to play here.

MyTi: Standing on the 10th green tee I admired nature at its finest. A roadrunner swept in and nabbed a lizard for lunch. Walking off the 18th green I could empathize with the lizard. The course is fun and playable if you are in control of your game. If you are crooked, it will make you pay. Being in the mountains you need to pay attention to the greens.

Stone: Hot day, no beverage cart and the restaurant/bar closed before we even finished. Having said that, the course was interesting with very nice views of the Fountain Hills area. Nowhere near as nice as We-Ko-Pa, and maybe a little harder as a few of the greens are tricked up a bit. Overall fun day and worth playing when you want a challenge. Watch out for hungry roadrunners. Update, September, 2012: The first few times we played here I did not like it very much. This time it started to grow on me. Yes, it is still target golf, but it is fair. Yes, it does not have the views of a We-Ko-Pa in the same area, but it does have some views, and an interesting variety of holes. Restaurant/bar closed when we finished at 4:30, cart person left after front nine, so that was a little disappointing agaom, but you should definitely try to play here. Who knows, you might even like it as we did.
