Comments

QuickBuck: (Original) Lots of dead trees; dirt around fairways, could be great if they spent a little money on the areas outside the rough. All areas are unkept. Dirt and dead trees. The staff is not friendly and could make a difference if they cared.

Bone: Nice renovation! Greens were fast and difficult to read, but fair. Played from 6800. Par 3 hole 17 was 232 yards! Much improved, a little steep $ in winter.

Malibu : For a city course this has turned out to be a great course, after removing many large trees. Sand traps were in great shape. Greens were dormant and fast, hard to read. Fairways were nice. They have made many improvements. Updated April, 2010: A few years back, this course had way too many trees to contend with. Today many of those trees have been cut down, but remaining trees are in unhealthy condition. Greens and fairways are in nice condition, sand traps okay. Their carts have a new system that won’t allow you near greens or desert areas. This is a pain in the you know what.

Stone: They are definitely making progress, but still have a ways to go. Course is very nice, but still need to fill in or remedy some of the rough areas. It really helped the look and feel of the course to remove the dead trees, but they could still take out a few more as far as I am concerned. The removal of the dead trees also cleaned up the course quite a bit and now you have a beautiful view of the peaks surrounding the course. Still need permanent restrooms, a clubhouse, and a restaurant, but three cheers for the progress! Updated April, 2010: Half dead trees still need to be removed. Staff friendly, set up for tournaments, have everything but a clubhouse/restaurant. But: carts now have a GPS system they call the “Guardian”. It beeps if you get within 30 yards of the green, sand traps, edge of fairway, and if it then decides you are too close, it dies. Sometimes we were in the fairways and it would beep. Sometimes we were outside the cart path signs near the greens and it would still beep. Not an enjoyable experience wondering if we were going to have to walk back. Will probably only play this course again if we walk as that system so annoying it takes away the fun of playing.
