Comments

Bone: Fairways in poor condition, in fact, a good drive at Bear Creek can put you up shit creek! Greens were solid and slow. No trees for shade on a 117 degree day. Always nice staff. True public course, crowded.

QuickBuck: Wide open and no homes. No trees, no shade at 110 degrees. Disappointed with the fairways. They should know how to take care of summer grass. Looks like they are building a new pro shop. Updated April, 2010: Great price for April ($34.00 SW Pass). New club house and well maintained tee boxes and greens. Greens are hard to read and a lot slower than they look. Lots of weeds for your ball to get lost in. The summer heat will take care of them. Not very interesting or a destination but you will be challenged and entertained.

Malibu: Fairways were in spotty condition. Not too difficult to hit. Greens were in good condition. Sand traps had enough sand in them for a fair shot out. Overall play was nice. Updated April, 2010: This course has made a number of improvements over the past year or so. The new clubhouse is very nice, fairways were in nice shape. Greens also were in good condition. If you stray off the fairways you will be lucky to find your ball due to the thick vegetation. Overall for the money, well worth it.

Stone: Nice links course. Greens in good shape, but slow. Good practice facilities. No shade, but cart person best we have had all year. Cheerful even at thermonuclear temperatures and came by frequently. Nice playable course in Chandler. No restaurant or clubhouse, but looks like one may be coming in the future. P.S. They have now built the Club House and it is quite nice! Updated April, 2010: Nice clubhouse, reasonable price during baseball spring training season. So much rain this spring has caused a veritable arboretum to spring up in the desert areas, a condition upon which I blame my two lost balls on hole #9. Greens in good shape, but slower than they looked. No sand in traps. Not an exciting destination course, but a good solid choice for East Valley golfers.
