Bone: This is the sister course, designed by Arnold Palmer, of the Resort Course at La Cantera which hosts the Valero Texas Open. It has elevation changes on every hole and no two holes are remotely alike. It is very challenging with extremely hard to read greens that are very fast. The area has a fault line which runs through the course and the putts break towards this. Add a foot or more to your read! The wind was blowing 25-35 mph today and the course has many holes in this Texas Hill Country around the top of those very hills. The pro shop has been rated in the top 100 for many consecutive years. A sleeve of balls is only $8.50 but I found out that it is because you will find many more on the course! There are no out of bounds… The entire course is played as a lateral hazard and you can play them if you find them. I found over 30 balls while searching for mine. Some very nice Pro V-1’s I might add. The course is laced with live oak trees which are native this area of Texas. Sand traps had the white silica-type sand and were very soft, deep and playable. This course has 5 different tees to play from and golfer should be careful not to assume they can play from their usual distances and score on this course. Go back one or two tees on this very difficult yet fun course.
