Bone: A challenging course with lots of water in play. Good drives rewarded with simple approaches. Many traps but not deep... but they are really short of sand. Tough par 4's from back tees. Prices really jump up in winter. One of my favorite courses in the valley.
Malibu: This course is a beautiful course most of the year. During summer months, greens suffer due to high temps. Fairways okay. Sand traps were compacted. Water is in play on just about every hole, demanding accurate shots. Overall a very nice course.
Ralphy: Very few courses like Ocotillo in the valley. No desert and lots of water. Great scenery and a great club house. This course is a must play in Phoenix. Bring a bunch of balls!
Stone: I like this course. Lots of water on 27 holes. Great scenery but the water can be intimidating. As the course has matured, it has really become a beautiful course. Pro shop told me it was in great shape when I called for a tee time, but the greens were sanded and almost unplayable. Nevertheless, a must play if you are in the Phoenix metropolitan area. |
