Malibu: This City of Phoenix course has a nice layout but needs some T.L.C. Fairways were in poor condition. Rough areas were also poor. Sand traps were inconsistent at best. Greens were in good shape. Overall, okay for the money.
QuickBuck: You can tell the city is out of funding. This course is in poor shape and should only be played when the rates go down. The greens were the only positive. For a weekday the pin placement was the most difficult they could find.
MyTi: Greens were slow, bunkers inconsistent. Good layout, need to play most clubs in the bag. Solid risk/reward holes. Fun to play.
Stone: Probably best City of Phoenix course, but not in great shape today despite high season. Greens good, fairways okay, sand traps dirt and rocks, rough is simply desert nasty. Long round unless you hit it straight – we didn’t, and it took us a while to get around the course even though not very busy. Saw a coyote taking a nap on 14 less than 50 yards from our tee box, and one nervous rabbit. Nice day. |
